For mainland climbers, Hawaii has never been known for climbing and, in fact, is often thought of as devoid of any climbable rock.  For transplanted local climbers, information on Hawaii climbing has been nearly impossible to obtain, unless you just happen to meet the right people.  And for all those in Hawaii who would enjoy climbing, it is a sport which has gone largely unnoticed and misunderstood.  Since 2002, the mission of RockClimbingHawaii.com was to change all that.

This site is intended to act as a community information center.  It will strive to provide local climbers with valuable and objective information about Hawaii's climbing areas, climbing industry businesses, and public issues.  It is our hope that this site will support and grow our local climbing community, as well as generate a better understanding of the sport in Hawaii.  All the information within this site comes from our local climbers, and RockCllimbingHawaii.com will always welcome, and encourage, input and feedback from the community.

As is the philosophy of most climbers and climbing organizations, we strongly believe in the protection and conservation of the natural environment which provides us with so much enjoyment.  It is our hope that all climbers who visit this site and enjoy climbing in Hawaii share in this vision, and support our call to "Malama Ka Aina"... preserve, protect and care for the land.  It is through this doctrine that we will ensure continued access to climbing areas and growth in the recognition and acceptance of our sport in Hawaii.
